For 133 years, the cold, dark waters of Lake Superior held onto one of its most haunting secrets - the final resting place of the Western Reserve, a massive steel steamer of the Gilded Age that vanished without a trace in a violent storm. Its sinking took with it millionaire shipping magnate Peter G. Minch, his young family, and all but one of the 27 souls aboard. But now researchers with the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society (GLSHS) have finally solved the mystery as to how the vessel sank and where it ended up.
