Trudeau is set to make an announcement at 10.45am Eastern Time that he will resign as the Liberal Party leader, sources familiar with the prime minister's plans told The Globe and Mail. One person with knowledge of Trudeau's plans told The Globe and Mail that he realizes he needs to make an announcement before he meets with the Liberal caucus to avoid the appearance that he was forced out by the party.
