When speaking with media members on Friday, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed that wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson are questionable to play in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.
Brown is dealing with multiple injuries, including the ankle injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks and a flare-up of an ongoing knee issue. Losing him this week would put the Patriots in a serious bind at the wide receiver position.
Along with Brown, the team is also still missing Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins. That means they would be down to Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism III as their top receiving options against the Dolphins. It adds an element of concern ahead of what was initially viewed as a layup victory on the Patriots' schedule.
The Patriots will have to turn to the practice squad and call up help from players like Chandler Brayboy, Kyle Dixon, Cameron Dorner and Ryan Miller.
"His status is questionable, like some other players. We will see when he comes in tomorrow, and we'll make a decision," Vrabel said on Brown.
As for running back, the team has leaned heavily on Corey Kiner behind Rhamondre Stevenson in recent weeks. That should continue this week as well, with the added possibility that Lan Larison will get the call-up to the main roster for the game.
