Hootie and the Blowfish came up with their name during a drunken night at university back in the mid-Eighties, and fans are still only just learning the true meaning of the moniker four decades later. The iconic rock band, which was formed in South Carolina, has comprised of Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld for the entirety of their music career. Naturally, music lovers were quick to assume that the band's name was in some way inspired by nicknames that the group had for each other.
